UroColor 4S strips give a quick four-point check of a urine sample at the collection site: protein, glucose, pH and specific gravity. Dip, wait 60 seconds and compare the strip with the colour chart on the bottle. No instrument needed. In a workplace testing programme, the specific gravity and pH pads give a useful early indication of dehydration and of dilute or tampered samples. The protein and glucose pads add basic health screening information for medical centres, health monitoring and AOD support programmes. What each pad measures Test pad Reading range Protein Negative, then 10, 30, 100, 300 and 1,000 mg/dL Glucose Negative, then 100, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg/dL pH 5.0 to 9.0 Specific gravity 1.000 to 1.030 How to use • Collect a fresh urine sample in a clean, dry container and mix it well. • Take one strip from the bottle and replace the cap straight away. • Dip all the test pads in the urine for 1 to 2 seconds, then remove the strip. • Run the edge of the strip along the rim of the container and lay it on its side on a tissue for 1 to 2 seconds to remove excess urine. • Compare the pads with the colour chart on the bottle at exactly 60 seconds. Do not read results after 60 seconds. Always follow the full instructions for use supplied in the kit. Storage and handling • Store between 1 and 30 °C, out of direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. • Keep strips in the original bottle with the cap tightly closed, and leave the desiccant in the bottle. • Do not touch the test pads, and do not use a strip if the pads have discoloured. Common questions Is this a drug test? No. UroColor 4S checks the sample itself, not for drugs. Use it alongside a urine drug cup or dip test.
